There was panic at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday, March 14th, 2022 as the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Abba Kyari’s wife fainted.
She slumped shortly after Emeka Nwite, the trial judge, adjourned the criminal matter for ruling on the bail application brought by her husband (Kyari) and his co-defendants.
She fainted while armed operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) were leading her husband and others out of the courtroom.
She was immediately carried and rushed into one of the offices at the court by some security operatives and lawyers.
According to sources, “She is asthmatic. She was resuscitated after about 40 minutes.”
For those who don’t know, Abba Kyari and four (4) other members of the police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) were on March 7, 2022 arraigned.
Others are Chibunna Patrick Umeibe and Emeka Alphonsus Ezenwanne two alleged drug traffickers who were arrested at Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.
In the charge marked FHC/ABJ/57/2022, the agency accused the defendants of conspiracy, obstruction and dealing in cocaine worth 17.55 kilograms.
